I would like to extend a sincere message of support for the inauguration of the Consortium of Country and Area Studies (CCAS). In times of rising geopolitical tensions, uncertainty, and likelihood of introduction of new divisive lines in the world, the creation of an academic network that will strive to promote interdisciplinary research on global issues and more inclusive global governance, serves a crucial societal need. I have very high hopes that CCAS will turn into a platform for interaction and dialogue facilitating mutual understanding between countries and thus advancing a better and more humane world.
